Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Levedia website (levedia.app) and our apps, starting with Veggie, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

The short version:

  • Your plant log, plant catalogue and settings are stored on your phone. We can’t see them.
  • Veggie doesn’t need an account. It never asks for your name, email address, weight, health conditions or any other medical information.
  • Usage statistics and crash reports are collected only if you agree, and they don’t include your name or contact details.
  • We don’t show ads and we don’t sell or share your personal information.
  • Payments are handled by Apple and Google. We never see your card details.

1. Who we are

Levedia is the trading name of Kalácska Gábor e.v., a sole proprietor (egyéni vállalkozó) registered in Hungary.

  • Registered address: 1033 Budapest, Búza utca 8., Hungary
  • Registration number (nyilvántartási szám): 62893088
  • Tax number (adószám): 92428281-1-41
  • EU VAT number: HU92428281
  • Email: hello@levedia.app

We are the “controller” of the personal data described in this policy. This means we decide how and why it is processed.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you log in Veggie stays on your device: the plants you add to your catalogue, the plants you log, your weekly history and your settings, including reminder times. We don’t have access to this information and it is never sent to us.

If you delete the app, this information is deleted too. Your phone’s own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include app data. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Usage statistics (only with your permission)

When you first open Veggie, we ask whether you’re happy to share usage statistics and crash reports. If you agree, the app collects:

  • how the app is used, such as screens viewed, features used and events like “plant logged” or “weekly goal reached” (the names of the plants you log are not collected);
  • device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone;
  • your approximate country or region, derived from your IP address;
  • a random identifier for your installation of the app, which is not linked to your name or contact details.

We use Google Firebase Analytics and PostHog to collect and analyse this information.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). If you don’t agree, these statistics are not collected. You can change your mind at any time in Settings in the app. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect data collected before.

3.2 Crash reports (only with your permission)

If you have agreed to share statistics and the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends us a crash report so we can fix the problem. A crash report contains technical information about the error and the state of the app and device (such as operating system version, free memory and orientation), and the random installation identifier.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given together with the consent for usage statistics.

3.3 Purchases and free trial

You can use Veggie free for 7 days. After that, you can continue with a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive only the information needed to unlock the features you paid for, such as the product purchased, the purchase and renewal dates, the subscription status, an anonymous transaction identifier and the country of purchase. We never receive your name, email address or payment card details. We may use a purchase-management service provider to check that purchases are valid; it receives the same limited information.

Legal basis: performing our contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and keeping records we are required to keep by law (Article 6(1)(c)).

3.4 Reminders and notifications

Daily reminders, weekly summaries and milestone messages are created and scheduled on your device. No data is sent to us to make them work. You can change or switch off reminders in the app, or turn off notifications for Veggie in your phone’s settings.

3.5 When you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply and help you.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your questions (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), or steps you ask us to take before or under a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

3.6 Visiting our website

Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

The website doesn’t use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics tools, and it loads its fonts from our own server rather than from third parties.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

4. What we don’t collect

  • We don’t ask for or collect health, medical or body information, such as weight, symptoms or conditions.
  • We don’t require an account, name, email address or phone number to use Veggie.
  • We don’t collect your precise location, contacts, photos or microphone data.
  • We don’t use advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID) and we don’t show ads.
  • We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:

Provider Purpose Location
Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) Usage statistics and crash reports EU and USA
PostHog Inc. (EU Cloud) Usage statistics EU (Germany)
Cloudflare, Inc. Website hosting and security Global network
Our email service provider Receiving and answering emails EU or USA
Purchase-management provider, if used Checking that purchases are valid EU or USA

Apple and Google also process information when you download the app or make a purchase. They act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based in, or can access data from, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and, for UK users, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum), together with appropriate safeguards.

7. How long we keep information

  • On-device data: until you delete it or the app. We never hold a copy.
  • Usage statistics: up to 14 months, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Crash reports: up to 90 days.
  • Purchase records: 8 years, as required by Hungarian accounting law.
  • Emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer to handle a legal claim.
  • Website logs: according to Cloudflare’s standard retention periods.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your data.
  • Restriction and objection: ask us to limit how we use your data, or object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Portability: receive your data in a commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time in the app’s settings.

To use these rights, email hello@levedia.app. Because Veggie works without an account, we don’t know who you are and usually can’t link statistics to you (GDPR Article 11). If you’d like us to find and delete the statistics linked to your installation, include the app ID shown in Settings in the app. We will reply within one month. In complex cases this can be extended, and we’ll tell you if it is.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Hungary, this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9–11, naih.hu. You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work, or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Additional information for US residents

This section applies to residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws.

  • Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (a random app installation ID); internet or other electronic network activity (app interactions and crash data); approximate geolocation (country or region); commercial information (purchase and subscription status). Sections 3 and 5 describe the sources, purposes and recipients.
  • Sensitive personal information: we don’t collect it.
  • Sale and sharing: we don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we haven’t done so in the last 12 months.
  • Your rights: you can ask to know, access, correct or delete your personal information, and you won’t be discriminated against for using these rights. You can use an authorised agent. We may need to verify your request.
  • Consumer health data: the foods you log are stored only on your device and are never collected by us.

To make a request, email hello@levedia.app. We respond within 45 days.

10. Children

Our apps and website are not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Optional cloud sync (planned)

We plan to offer optional cloud sync, so you can back up your log and use it on more than one device. This feature is not available yet. When it launches, it will be optional, and we’ll update this policy first to explain what is stored, where, and how to delete it.

12. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls and careful selection of service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a feature. We’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app or on this website.

14. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data? Email hello@levedia.app or write to Kalácska Gábor e.v., 1033 Budapest, Búza utca 8., Hungary.
